Bus route 326
This email concerns the buses which have been introduced recently on this bus route. These buses are dangerous to passengers.
These buses have no padding on the seats, but merely a single layer of fabric. They are literally boneshakers.
Naturally, they are extremely uncomfortable. But they are not merely uncomfortable. but also dangerous. Each time a bus encounters an irregularity in the road, each passenger receives a jolt to his or her spine.
It is useless for the bus company to claim that this is not a problem. I know that it is a problem, from my own experience, since I received a spinal injury on a bus such as this.
It is even more dangerous for elderly people. I would strongly recommend that no elderly people should use these buses.
I cannot understand how such dangerous vehicles could ever have been approved for public service. I cannot understand how they remain in service.
I ask you to take steps to require the operator of this route to replace these buses with safer types as soon as possible.
I am forwarding a copy of this email to Theresa Villiers, who is the Member of Parliament for my part of Barnet.
Thank you for your attention.
