Dear Mr Freer,
It is a matter of regret that a number of rather unpleasant people appear on ther Brexit side includind some at the top levels of the Conservative party. It is fortunate however than that not all those in favour of leaving the EU are as committed as the person who assassinated Jo Cox.
i was shocked, but not entirely surprised, to hear that some MPs desire that The Bells of Big Ben should be rung, at the moment when the UK formally leaves the EU on the 31st of January.
In a country that has been split in half by the attitude to the EU this can only be viewed as gloating by one half over the other and reveals a sadistic and mean-spirited attitude
Perhaps thoses MPs will take pleasure in knowing the amount of dismay and resentment , if not anger, that would be raised by such an event.
Obviously, sUch an activity can only exacerbate the conflict between the two sides.
IF the situation of this country in the coming years deteriorates to the degree that some of us fear, in view of the attitudes that have been exposed, it will not be surprising if those of us who wish the UK to remain a part of the EU will be accused of sabotage.

On another matter I and other neighbours have viewed with concern the demolishing of the Police Statikon at Finchley Cheuch End.
Security is now a huge issue for my sel and my neighbours, one of wom has been burgled for the second time in two years.
I read in the newspapers today that the plice are no longer capable of mounting prosections for crimes such as shoplifting, and so a private organisation is perform this.
One has to ask ow long will it be before this once iincredible situation becomes the norm for other crimes such as burglary
